I got these socks recently from Bike UK on Queens Ave in Clifton. They are the excellent Sealskins waterproof socks. But what is even better is that because they are last season’s stock they are all 20% off!

I’ve had a pair before – 2 pairs actually. The first pair I washed in the washing machine on a 30 degree wash, but I guess that the thermostat on the machine wasn’t all that accurate Read more >>

Oktoberfest Last Lap Photo

This is the one photo that I didn’t have ready for the main blog post about the Oktoberfest. Ollie Young and Simon “Temps” Wright riding past the Taylored Cycles pit area for the last time on their 10th lap and still managing a smile!

TC at The Oktoberfest 2011

If you’re looking for the German beer festival you’ve come to the wrong place!

The Taylored Cycles Race team has competed in many of the annual Bikefest 12 hour events that have happened every June for the past 10 years. However this was our first visit to the the October 8 hour version.

We just had a select couple of competitors for our first run of the Oktoberfest. They were in the form of Oliver Young and Simon “Temps” Wright who entered the 8 hour solo event. We also had Edd Gowlett who tagged along to get some of the excellent Taylored Cycles race support and he entered the 8 hour solo singlespeed event. Yes, I know, that was a crazy idea.

Edd found us an excellent spot to set up the pit area and show off the new Taylored Cycle Hub sign writing on the van.

The seemingly fallen over awning wasn’t ours – our neighbours were using it as a pretty effective wind break!

Our intrepid (stupid) solo riders set off to the traditional Le Mans start while I put the finishing touches to the pit area and positioned myself at the corner into the start/finish straight to cheer them past after the initial melee.

During the race I passed the time Read more >>

Past Events

Oct 4, 2011   //   by ross.taylor   //   All, Race Team  //  No Comments

To get us started I thought I’d give a quick run through of some of the exciting events Taylored Cycles has been involved with over last year.

Back in April I thoroughly enjoyed dressing up when Taylored Cycles provided the support vehicle for Bristol’s first ever Vintage Velo. We started from Clifton Suspension Bridge, stop at Tyntesfield for ginger beer, and ended up at Flax Bourton Village Hall for some bicycle related games.

I’m an active cyclist myself, and so Read more >>
